Killeen Castle is located near the picturesque village of Dunsany, just north of Dunshaughlin and overlooked by the ancient Hill of Tara.
The Solheim Cup is a biennial trans-Atlantic team matchplay competition and is considered the premier event in women's world golf. The Solheim Cup features 12 of the top European-born players from the Ladies European Tour and 12 top American-born players from the Ladies Professional Golf Association. It was founded in 1990 by Karsten Manufacturing Corporation, makers of PING golf equipment.
The Solheim Cup is a three-day, match-play competition. The first two days of competition feature two sessions each day, with a total of eight foursomes and eight four-ball matches over the two days. The final day consists of 12 singles matches.
